The main stage comes alive over two days with a vibrant variety of Indian dance and music.
From North and South Indian classical music to classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, and Kuchipudi, as well as Bollywood and Tamil film dance, the program offers a wide range of Indian performing arts, from traditional to contemporary.
Namaste India has also continued to introduce Japanese culture through performances such as traditional Ainu dance and Japanese taiko drumming.

Experience the beauty and grace of Odissi, one of India’s major classical dance forms, in this vibrant stage performance.
The program features four pieces: Mangalacharan, an auspicious invocation offering prayers to the divine; Pallavi, a graceful pure dance in which melody, rhythm, and movement unfold in harmony; Kaibarta Prasanga, which portrays an episode from the Ramayana; and Chandana Charchita from Jayadeva’s Gita Govinda, expressing the divine love of Lord Krishna and the gopis.

◆Introducing the Biratori Cultural Preservation Society◆
In 1983, the Biratori Ainu Cultural Preservation Society, after adopting its formal regulations, was officially established.
In 1984, Ainu traditional dance was designated by the Japanese government as an "Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property," and in September 2009, it was also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Alongside Ainu traditional dance, we continue to engage in a wide range of cultural transmission activities across various fields, including clothing, food, housing, and the Ainu language.
In addition to performances throughout Japan, we place a strong emphasis on international exchange with Indigenous peoples from other countries. We work to introduce and share Ainu traditional culture with audiences around the world, while also learning dances from other Ainu regions--not only those traditionally passed down in Biratori--and using them to promote and share Ainu culture.
Ainu people would sing and dance on almost every occasion--during ceremonies, when close friends and family gathered together, or even during breaks from work.
Ainu dances differ from region to region and take many forms, including dances that mimic the behaviour of animals and plants in nature, as well as dances that incorporate elements of play.
With the exception of dances performed to ward off evil or to purify a place, Ainu dances are not traditionally performed for others to merely watch. Instead, everyone present participates, expressing their feelings and emotions and taking pleasure in the dance themselves. This participatory nature is a special feature of the Ainu dances.

We are Koyu, a Japanese taiko drumming group founded in Inagi City, Tokyo, and now in our 27th year.Our activities are centered around an annual charity concert dedicated to supporting recovery from natural disasters , and assisting children with disabilities in becoming self-reliant. In addition to this, we visit various facilities nationwide and participate in festivals, devoting ourselves to the promotion and advancement of traditional Japanese arts.
