Chizuko Asami began her training under Sunil Gurukkal in 2001, at CVN Kalari (Kerala,INDIA). She started teaching Kalaripayattu in Tokyo since 2006, with years of training and experience at CVN Kalari. She incorporated CVN KALARI JAPAN together with Nidheesh Gurukkal(certified as a master teacher by CVN Kalari) in 2012. They conduct workshops in Japan and abroad with the aim of spreading orthodox Kalaripayattu techniques.

Soyo Odissi Dance is a group led by Soyo Omachi, bringing together dancers with over ten years of Odissi experience. Soyo studied Odissi in Odisha, India, and the members continue to deepen their practice through training and visits to India. A 38 member group performance featuring children aged 8−14 and adult dancers from beginner to advanced levels. Blending Indian classical dance with Bollywood, contemporary and Western styles, the performance celebrates women’s grace, strength and confidence. Western-inspired costumes and flowing skirts will complement Indian dance. Through expressive choreography, formations and theatrical elements, all dancers unite in a powerful finale flash mob.

Tridhara Japan is an Odissi dance company based on Aichi, branch of Tridhara India. With permission from director Guru Gajendra Kumar Panda, Chisato Miura launched the Japan chapter. They spread and promote Guru Debaprasad Das Style, a unique Odissi dance style that incorporates folk and tribal elements. On 2025, they performed at Guru Debaprasad Award in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and their dedication beyond the culture has highly appreciated.

Based in Kobe, this Bollywood Dance team is led by Purvi Jhaveri, who was born in Mumbai, India and raised in Kobe. Nritya Odori − Uniting Cultures is a premium Kathak institute in Tokyo, with 45+ dancers trained over six years. Founded by Paulomi Barman, trained under Guru Ramaprasad Chattopadhyay, disciple of Pt. Birju Maharaj, and Sanjukta Sinha, disciple of Guru Kumudini Lakhia, Nritya Odori preserves Kathak in its purest form while bringing a fresh, contemporary perspective for the next generation. The institute also hosts Kathak & Bollywood workshops.

Tejaswini began learning Kathak at age of 7and has trained for over 15 years under Guru Dr. Madhuri Apte. She has completed Nritya Visharad and is pursuing Nritya Alankar. With 10 years in Japan, she has taught Kathak in Tokyo for eight years and performed across Japan and India, teaching more than 30 students. She shares the beauty of Kathak, Indian culture, storytelling and music while honoring its classical traditions.

This performance presents traditional Banaras Gharana compositions with live tabla, Kathak recitation, and vocals. The dancer and musicians interact in real time, bringing out the traditional essence of Kathak. This solo with live musicians is a challenge for me, and an opportunity to share the pure beauty and spirit of Kathak on the Namaste India stage.
