"Prana" is a Bharatanatyam dance group active in the cities of Toda and Warabi, Saitama Prefecture. The members mastered the theory and technique of Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Ms. Uma Sundaram, Ms. Neela Sukanyan, and Ms. Shobana Balchandla―who lead "Nritya Jyothi" in Chennai, South India―and they introduce the art form through lectures and performances across India and Japan.

We are a Bharatanatyam dance group based in Toda City, Saitama Prefecture. Today, we will be performing "Todayamangaram." This piece serves to welcome the deities and imbue the venue with a sacred atmosphere. It is a devotional composition featuring shifting rhythms and melodies, in which we seek blessings from Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, and Lord Vishnu.

KAZUKO began studying Bharatanatyam in 2003 at Nagoya (Akemi Sakurai) After moving to Fukuoka in 2009, she studied under Miyuki Fukunaga and completed her Arangetram in December 2014. She has continued to train while her career as a corporate employee, performing on stage, currently studies under Yumiko Tanaka. Since 2022, she has directed "ganga Indian dance studio," paforming and private instruction. She lives in Sendai and have a studio in Hamamatsu.

We are a dance group formed anew every summer. It was established to provide children in Edogawa Ward with an easy way to perform on stage at local festivals. Children, 3-18 years old, of various backgrounds―including Indian, Japanese, and Chinese―overcome language barriers to practice routines set to Indian dance music, J-Pop, and more over a short period. Thanks to the children's amazing focus, their performances are energetic and captivating!

The first song is "Manohari" from the Indian movie *Baahubali*. The second song is a Bollywood dance taught to us by an Indian mom friend. The third song is "Zoo" from the Disney movie *Zootopia 2*. We’re all just going to have a blast dancing to it. The fourth song is "Tsubame", the SDGs theme song. Older students will take the lead, and everyone will energetically transform into swallows! Love Bollywood in Tokyo is a Bollywood dance group founded and led by Yu Hosaka, active mainly in Tokyo since 2015. We are Odissi dancers learning under Miyuki for more than 20 years.
Miyuki is a direct disciple of Guru Mayadhar Raut, a famous master who created “Raut Style” Odissi dance. We perform in various places and enjoy them.

Our fourth consecutive year at the Namaste India Festival is an honor for Nritya Nippon by Anushka Ekanayake.
The Japan branch of Anushka Kathak Dance Academy (founded in Sri Lanka in 2008), is dedicated to the Lucknow Gharana, Led by ICCR scholar Anushka Ekanayake, who moved to Japan in 2019, it nurtures a new generation of dancers. Based in Kawaguchi and active in Tokyo, Nritya Nippon continues to grow as a vibrant hub for Indian classical dance.

The presentation opens with a graceful Gat by Anushka Ekanayake, capturing Kathak’s elegance and storytelling. Team Nritya Nippon’s juniors perform the Ashtapadi “Nirtaka Dhanga” from Jayadeva’s Gita Govinda, portraying Krishna’s charm. A soulful Sufi Kathak follows, choreographed by Sanjukta Sinha at the 2026 Ahmedabad Dance Residency. The finale features Anushka, Maiko, Haru, Sarina and Sean.

Hiromi Maruhashi is a leading figure of Mohiniyattam, the classical dance of Kerala, South India, in Japan. Selected as a fellow by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2000, she mastered authentic techniques in India. Acclaimed at home and abroad, she won awards in both countries and appeared in Indian films and TV. As director of the Hiromi Maruhashi Mohiniyattam Troupe, she deeply contributes to promoting the dance and nurturing the next generation.

We are the Hiromi Maruhashi Mohiniyattam Troupe. Today, we perform "Jatiswaram," a sacred piece praising India's supreme deity. Our dance embodies Kerala's nature through graceful upper-body movements like swaying palms and powerful steps stamping the earth. Please notice our beautiful white-and-gold traditional costumes. Dear audience, join our stage with big clapping and enjoy the gentle breeze of South India!

Contemporary Natyam Company (CNC) is an Indian dance troupe and school founded and led by the renowned Indian dance expert Kyoko Nohi. For years, we have been offering enjoyable lessons in a variety of styles, including the classical South Indian dance Bharatanatyam, Bollywood dance seen in Indian films, and Bangra dance.
