Yukie indian dance company Sampatti is an Odissi dance company based in Nagoya, carrying on the style of SRJAN and the lineage of legendary Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. We perform in Japan and abroad, sharing the beauty and spirit of Indian classical dance. Last year, we successfully toured India and offered a devotional dance at the Hyderabad branch of the Jagannath Temple.

Sundaris is an Indian movie dance team born from the Indian Cooking School Paisley. Led by Makoraja, who studied under an Indian dance master, we pursue the appeal of Indian dance that "everyone can enjoy." Formed 12 years ago, we have performed at festivals for Indians living in Japan and local events in Japan. We continue to spread the charm of India through "stages that can be enjoyed together with the audience" that include workshops.

We will perform to the dance songs of Tamil and Telugu movies. In between, we will invite you all to learn some simple steps with him so please stand up and take part! We won’t let our audience sit and just watch. Experience and discover YOUR India! Those of you from India, please witness how much joy your culture brought to our life in Japan. Lisa Itakura received France’s Commandeur distinction “Encouragement Public” in 2018 for her contributions to Bollywood and her original dance artistry. She has long been active as a professional musical actress at the Imperial Theatre. She starred as the heroine in the Bollywood film Dance Dance Dance, directed by Akrumn Shakh and filmed between Mumbai and Yokohama. Her Bollywood work Nachlo! continues to serve as a bridge of friendship between Japan and India.

"Prakashah"―a name meaning "light" in Hindi―is a dance duet specializing in Kathak, a form of North Indian classical dance.
Kathak is a versatile dance form that combines theatrical storytelling with the enjoyment of rhythmic complexity and a sense of speed. We aim to pursue a style of expression that is both classical and diverse.

This is "Prakasha", and this will be our first time performing in "Namaste India". It is an honor to participate in Namaste India, an event that has long spearheaded mutual understanding and cultural exchange between Japan and India. We look forward to enjoying the experience ourselves while hoping to play a part in fostering this cultural exchange.
