Message
Salaam Daru is a poem in the C18. It describes Goddess Duruga who is empowered and beautiful. She destroys the evil with her spear, astride the lion. also she’s compassionate mother who protects all. The poem uses the word “Salaam” which is a Persian word to offer salutations to the King, because originally this dance was performed by the court dancers in front of the King. Therefore this dance reflects unity of cultures. Choreograph:Guru.Rama Vaidyanathan
