東日本大震災以来、食についても、今までの経済優先という社会の背景に、世界の食べ物を集めおいしいものを食べる、グルメという方向が、少しずつ変化し始めています。健康を考えたり、食べ過ぎないようにしたり、安全なものへの関心、また世界の貧しい人たちのことを考えた上での食生活。伝統的な地域の食文化の見直しが各地で始まっています。
インドはご承知のように、アヒンサー、慈悲・非暴力の考えに基づき、菜食の文化が世界で始まった場所でもあります。ナマステ・インディアでは、初めて「菜食ハウス」を設けました。菜食の活動や普及に努力されてきた団体や個人が参加します。一度、「菜食ハウス」へ訪れてみてはいかがでしょうか。
